Editorial Guide & Glossary
A reference key to understand the data fields and indicators displayed throughout the Pulsefeedharbor Desk.
Understanding the Table Notation
Each standings ledger uses standard football layout indicators. Here is a brief definition of each field:
- P (Played): The total number of matches finished by the national squad in this group tier.
- W (Wins): The count of matches where the squad outscored their opposition. Grants three (3) points.
- D (Draws): The count of games ending with level scores. Grants one (1) point to each side.
- L (Losses): Matches where the squad scored fewer goals than their opponent. Yields zero (0) points.
- GF (Goals For): The total cumulative goals kicked or headed into the opponent's net.
- GA (Goals Against): The total cumulative goals allowed into the squad's own net.
- GD (Goal Difference): Calculated as GF minus GA. Acts as a key ranking tiebreaker.
- PTS (Points): The cumulative ranking points (3 for a Win, 1 for a Draw, 0 for a Loss) used to determine basic group hierarchy.
General Editorial Principles
The sports desk at Pulsefeedharbor follows strict data representation policies:
- We prioritize real, static historical snapshots. We do not invent dummy variables or predictive indices.
- We avoid promotional odds or bookmaker links, ensuring your sporting lookup remains distraction-free and objective.
- Group layouts are updated statically via manual editorial reviews. We do not utilize unstable background scripts that drain your battery or load non-vetted trackers.
